"The Dayak Indramayu" live in the midst of the surrounding community, but in some ways, they isolate themselves from society. For example, to residences and places of worship (rituals) them, fortified with high walls and ornaments given ¬ painting paintings. Inside thefort there are several buildings which consist of: tribal leader's house, pavilion, pesarean, guesthouse, and a building housing one of the leaders of the tribe.

THE NAMING ORIGINS
OF SUKU DAYAK HINDU BUDHA BUMI SEGANDU
This community was named themselves as " SUKU DAYAK HINDU BUDHA BUMI
SEGANDU". According to the citizens of this community, naming the
Dayak this implies the following:
- The word "SUKU" means foot, which implies
that every human being to walk and stand ont heir feet to achieve
the objectives in accordance with the trust and belief respectively.
- The word "Dayak" is derived from the word "Diayak" or "ngayak"
In Java which means to select
or filter. The meaning of the word "Dayak" here is
to filter, sort and select what is right and wrong.
- The word "Hindu" means the
womb or uterus. The philosophy is that every human
being was born from the womb of the mother (female).
- The word "Buddha", the origin of the
word "wuda", which means naked. Philosophical meaning is
that every human being is born naked.
- Next is the word "Bumi Segandu Indramayu". "Bumi"
contains
the meaning of being, whereas "segandu" meaningful whole body. When
combined these two words, namely "Bumi Segandu" as
a philosophical meaning life force.
- The word "Indramayu", comprises: "In" meaning
is “'core”; "Darma" shall mean parents, and the
word "Ayu", meaning female. Philosophical meaning is that
the mother (female) is a source of life, because from
it is womb we are all born. That's why they have great
respect for women, which is reflected in the teachings andtheir
daily lives.
