Utility of Fly Ash

Fly Ash Silo
fly-ash has been established as a by-product from the center of the thermal plants that can be marketed commercially now, mainly in Europe. Its main use is as a building material.

Utilization of Ash is currently following Paragraph outlining in more detail the most common application of ash.

1. Concrete and Cement
Fly ash can be used as elements of concrete due to its pozzolanic reaction, if mixed with water and lime can be formed the material which  cement spatially (cementitious). Fly ash improves the durability of concrete against sulphate and adds to the durability of concrete compression mixture.

2. Soil Stabilization
As the material for the stabilization process, fly ash can be considered to have two capacities:

 3. Fly ash as an additive
can be used alone, or more commonly, mixed with lime or cement to form a bond (compound) which will be able to improve the physical properties of soil or other materials.

4. Soil Stabilization
As the material for the stabilization process, fly ash can be considered to have two capacities:

a. Fly ash as an additive can be used alone, or more commonly, mixed with lime or cement to form a bond (compound) which will be able to improve the physical properties of soil or other materials.
b. As the aggregate
Mixture of cement and fly ash can be used as bases and sub bases of roads, the hard shoulder of the road etc.

6. Fill Load Bearing
By adding enough water, ash can be compact into a load bearing fill to support the construction of roads or buildings.

With its density, low frictional resistance and its high permeability, a mixture of bottom / fly ash has the advantage in many
backfill operations.

7. Aerated Concrete
Aerated concrete is used for insulating the roof screed, pipe insulation and other purposes that require materials with low thermal conductivity.

Mixture of cement and fly ash with high silica content of aerated concrete is a material good.

8. Other Utilization of Fly Ash
Fly ash can be used as material for grouting alone or mixed with lime, portland cement, clay and other materials.
