Ever Dead Sea Drying

The Dead Sea lies between Jordan and the western part of Israel, the sea has the lowest point on earth at 400 meters below sea level. Sea is famous for its high concentration of salt, so not many living creatures that can survive in this sea, the sea is why this is called the Dead Sea.

Not long ago scientists discovered a surprising fact that the discovery of new samples from the bottom of The Dead Sea which shows that the sea would never dry up around 120,000 years ago. This fact is presented in Geophysical Union annual meeting in San Francisco. They say the findings suggest that the region can be very barren at the time of global warming.

But what surprised the scientists are finding rocks that they suspect is from the area that was once a beach. The findings indicate The Dead Sea never completely dry or nearly dry during a long drought on Earth. But the old days, only a few people who lived around the Dead Sea.
Therefore, the scientists warned Middle Eastern countries to conserve and manage water resources. Currently the water that flows into the Sea is widely used by residents in the vicinity and cause sea levels continue to decline. Climate experiment the scientists demonstrated thatthe region will again become barren in the future.

Professor Zvi Ben-Avraham of Tel Aviv University says the condition is alarming.  “The Excavation that we do provided one clue. Consider what happened in the last 200,000 years and note that it can dry out the area ... and we must," said Ben-Abraham. Professor Ben-Avraham and other scientists said the countries surrounding the Black Sea will need to work together to conserve water to prevent conflicts in the futureAdapted from Pikiran Rakyat Online
